# Keep a preview as a draft

Turn a Documarium preview into a draft in your account: it is free, it never expires, and readers can't see it until you publish it.

A preview is made from Claude with no account. Anyone with its link can open it, and it goes away after 48 hours unless you keep it. Keeping it makes it a draft that belongs to you, so you can go on changing it and publish it when it is ready.

## Before you begin

- Have the preview's link, from the message Claude sent when it made the preview.
- Have an email address to sign in with. Documarium has no password: we send you a link and a 6-digit code.

## Steps

You can keep a preview from the preview page, from your dashboard, or by asking Claude.

### On the preview page or in your dashboard

On the preview page or on **Your sites** in your dashboard, choose **Keep as draft**. Documarium asks you to confirm that the content is yours, or that you have permission to publish it, and to sign in if you have not already.

### By asking Claude

1. In Claude, ask to keep the preview under a short name, for example: *Keep this preview as acme*.
2. Claude reminds you that keeping a preview confirms the content is yours, or that you have permission to publish it. This is recorded. Say yes to go on.
3. If Documarium asks you to sign in, type your email address, then open the link we send you, or type the 6-digit code from the same email.
4. Claude answers with your draft's private link and its place on your dashboard. With the name acme, it will be at acme.documarium.com once you publish it.

## What you have afterwards

- **A draft in your account.** It is free and never expires, and readers can't see it until you publish it. Nothing removes a draft because nobody used it; it is removed only when its owner asks.
- **A private link.** It shows the draft's current pages until you first publish. Search engines are asked not to list it, and you can replace it from the dashboard.
- **Room to change it.** Ask Claude for changes in ordinary words, and look at each one before you save it.

To put your draft on the web for anyone to read, you need a plan. See [Publish your site](https://docs.documarium.com/guides/publish/).
